Description

The Proteus 1 was released in 1989 as the first E-MU sound ROM synthesizer module. It contained 32 voices of multi-timbral samples, coupled to a basic synthesizer sound architecture. The sounds for the Proteus module originated from the Emulator III library. The Proteus 1 sound library includes pianos, organs, strings, horns, guitars, basses and drums. The sound is laid back, yet very effective in popular music mix. When introduced, the demand for Proteus was great. E-mu could not produce enough of these modules to meet the demand. The Proteus was a massive hit that started a revolution of sound playback modules. This sound library contains the original hardware sounds and programmed for most vst software synthesizers.
